Mukti Suvedi (Caritas Nepal)

Mukti Suvedi has more than 12 years of experience working in nongovernmental organizations, with a focus on conflict sensitivity and peace-building. He is currently serving as executive secretary and head of the peace department at Caritas Nepal.

Mukti assists in designing, managing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs in 37 districts of Nepal. He also facilitates the policy throughout the country on internally displaced people affected by conflict. As an expert mentor, Mukti has facilitated 156 training programs focused on peace-building, reconciliation, conflict transformation, strategy planning and organizational development. He has supervised peace training for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and is a founding member of Peace Initiative Network Nepal, which is associated with more than 397 government and nongovernmental organizations. As a vital contributor during the development of the constitution in Nepal, Mukti has also worked with 240 constituency-level workshops focused on democratic dialogue and strong governance. He has been a visiting lecturer at three departments of Tribhuvan University in Nepal, instructing in peace-building, action research and human security.

Mukti earned his M.A. in applied conflict transformation studies at Pannasastra University of Cambodia and his graduate certificate at SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont.
