Product Development Team Member - Couro Ecologica

The team is in charge of market research and promotion for handbags and sandals made from natural rubber latex in one of the Amazon communities where we work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The project’s goal would be to:

  • Develop a market plan including pricing, distribution options, features, segmentation and more;
  • Contact potential retailers to learn their demands, as well as secure orders;
  • Maintain listing on our online retail site; and
  • Help fulfull orders.

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Needed:

  • Strong experience with the product marketing and business management;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Knowledge of market research tools;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Self-directed and self-motivated;
  • Detail-oriented and flexible; and
  • Familiarity and interest in women’s handbags and sandals.

Logistics and Compensation:

  • Start and end dates are flexible. Since this is a volunteer position no compensation will be given but will cover approved expenses.
  • This is a virtual opportunity which gives you flexibility to work from your home or in field. This is a virtual team opportunity which you may perform from your home or other location.

You must be able to commit to a minimum average of 10 hours a month. This is a "virtual" team opportunity which may be performed from home or another location.

Community Empowerment Network's (CEN’s) operations are nearly entirely driven by the efforts of volunteers (the only exception is our Field Manager in Santarém, Brazil, who is paid under contract). We are a small organization and so lines of sometimes overlap, but this provides a terrific opportunity for volunteers to take on a variety of responsibilities and to expand you’re their skills.
